Freight Rules for IPS

Achieving Free Freight
- To achieve free freight, domestic free freight eligible accounts must order a minimum of 15 shippable units or $350 retail of Ingram Publisher Services product.
- Free freight eligible customers qualify for free freight from their primary DC when 15 or more items ship from that DC (this includes committed items holding to ship from that DC).
- Free freight eligible customers qualify for free freight from their secondary DC when 15 items or more items ship from that DC (this includes committed items holding to ship from that DC).
- Free freight eligible customers who do not order a minimum of 15 shippable units or $350 retail but use their Default shipping instructions and Default warehouses will be charged the flat freight rate of $5 plus $1.50 fuel surcharge per shipment.
Shop Jackson
- Domestic IPS Shop Jackson customers receive free freight and no fuel surcharge from IPS Jackson provided the customer uses their Default shipping instructions and Default warehouses. All IPS Shop Jackson pick tickets will ship free-freight from Jackson if the customer is marked as free freight eligible.
Domestic Customers
- Domestic customers going to Jackson only that place non-paired orders to Jackson will receive free freight if the order meets the minimums to achieve free freight. The fuel surcharge applies.
- Domestic customers that override Default shipping instructions on an order will be subject to a discounted parcel rate (20% discount on full freight/published rates); cost +15% for LTL effective 11/1/2018.
- Alternate DC orders for wholesale and distribution do not qualify for free freight.
- Distribution customers must be in a free freight eligible class of trade and orders must be placed prior to product arriving into Ingram’s warehouse for Not Yet Published (NYP) titles to receive free freight. Fuel surcharge applies.
- There is not a minimum order quantity for NYP titles.
- Fuel surcharge does not apply to select IPS International customers shipping to a US based Freight Forwarder effective 10/1/18.
- International customers shipping direct to country on Ingram’s carriers will not be subject to a fuel surcharge because international rates include fuel.
- Publisher direct fulfillment (DF) shipments have access to all DCs. Publishers will be charged rates per their distribution services agreement. Publisher DF accounts (non-A/R) are not subject to the fuel surcharge.
- Distribution export consignment warehouses are not subject to the fuel surcharge.
- Customers in the classes of trade for Canada (CD, CG, CL, CM, CT, CW) are free freight always based on class of trade.
- There is a Canadian consolidation program out of Chambersburg and out of Jackson for customers with IPS retained A/R.
- Consolidation program is NOT available for non-A/R transactions.
- Shipments with the B2B promo code receive free standard freight.
- Freight charges apply to expedited B2B shipments.
- Customers in Alaska and Hawaii that ship UPS will receive a 25% discount off UPS Ground rates. Those who qualify for free freight (must order a minimum of 15 shippable units or $350 per DC) will be eligible for a freight allowance of 3% off invoice.
- Customers in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands currently default to routing media mail. As a result, the customers who qualify for free freight (must order a minimum of 15 shippable units or $350 per DC) receive free freight. Transportation and IPS evaluating the need for other ship methods and will update the policy as needed.
- All shipments are subject to a fuel surcharge unless otherwise noted. Rates are reviewed quarterly.
